2010 Rolex 24 Heritage Exhibition To Feature Vic Elford As Grand Marshal
Vic Elford has been appointed the Grand Marshal for the 48th anniversary of the Rolex 24 At Daytona. The winner of the 1968 Rolex 24 At Daytona will kick off the event that marks the beginning of the international motrosports calendar. Vic Elford has been one of Britain’s most versatile drivers in racing history. As the Grand Marshal, Vic Elford would have the pleasure to command the drivers, “Drivers, start your engines”. Vic Elford won the overall title at the endurance race in 1968 in the Porsche 907, which also marked the first of Porsche’s 21 overall victories at the twice-round-the-clock event. Vic Elford was accompanied behind the wheel by the Germans Jochen Neerpasch and Rolf Stommelen as well as Switzerland’s Jo Siffert.

The 2010 season of the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day event is scheduled to be back with all its glory from April 22 to 25. The CCI**** event will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. It is traditionally held on the last weekend of April, which is just a week prior to the Kentucky Derby. Challenging Winds Make Sailors Wait On Shore At The 2010 Rolex Miami OCR
The erratic weather and forecast of a thunderstorm made sailors from 11 classes wait on shore on the third day of the 2010 Rolex Miami OCR. The lucky classes that made it to the waters on Tuesday morning were the 49er (Men’s Two Person Dinghy) and the Elliot 6m (Women’s Match Racing). The 49er and the Elliot 6m were allowed to race as these were the only two classes that would sail close enough to the beach and could be called to shore faster and in time for the storm threat. The Star Men’s Keelboat course was not lucky enough to get the opportunity to sail, as it was three miles farther than the range that was considered safe. Although being on schedule for the regatta is always a priority for Rolex sponsored events; however, the safety of the participating sports persons surpasses all.
By mid to late afternoon, the [...] Read More at Melrose Jewelers.

All-American Lineup For The Rolex 24 At Daytona By GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing
The one team that can truly boast of an all-American connection at the Rolex 24 At Daytona would be GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing. The team not only has an all-American driver lineup but also boasts of an all-American crew. Even the No. 99 GAINSCO Auto Insurance Chevy Riley, that the team has been racing in for the past five consecutive years, is a U.S. made Riley XX powered by an engine straight out of Detroit, which is a Chevrolet version of GM’s celebrated small-block V8. Equipped with a starry lineup and an all-American crew, drivers, car and engine, all that is left to see is that whether GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing can create history by being the first 100% American team to claim victory in the event that can be traced back to 1962.
The enviable all-star lineup at GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing includes Alex Gurney, Jon Fogarty, Jimmie Johnson and Jimmy Vasser. [...] Read More at Melrose Jewelers.
