Rolex, Lexus And Doosan Co-Sponsor The Open Championship

Starting with the 2010 event, the Open Championship at St Andrew’s will see the Korean-based industrial giant, Doosan, joining hands with Rolex and Lexus in a five year sponsorship deal. Rejoicing at the successful culmination of this deal, Tim Waples, Doosan Infracore UK general manager, said that the objective of this deal was to increase the visibility of the company not only for forklifts but for other businesses in UK and elsewhere in Europe. According to him, the championship is a prestigious event and associating with it would help the company to improve its profile.

The Grand-Am Rolex Car Series Race At Lime Rock

Eager to get racing on the 1.5 mile track at Lime Rock, Connecticut, the Rolex series team is all set to get, set and go, after a successful preparation race test held by the team. Originated in the year 2000, the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car series is North America based and has been combining classes of Daytona prototypes, which is a custom based class built especially for the Rolex Series, and Touring Style Production based cars. The series also includes a number of tracks ranging from American, to Canadian, to Mexican. Presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16, the event is scheduled to happen on the 31st of May, at 2 P.M., ET.

Mark Wilkins All Set To Test His Endurance At The Rolex Sponsored Six Hour Race At Laguna Seca

Canadian racer Mark Wilkins is all set for a test-of-endurance race in the Laguna Seca Racing Championship. The American Le Mans Series will mark the initiation of the Laguna event. The racer will be seen sharing the steering wheel of the Level 5 Motorsports No. 55 FLM09 LMPC class with Scott Tucker and Christophe Bouchut. The event will take place over the weekend starting 22nd May, at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca which also hosts Rolex sponsored annual Monterey Historics championship, one of the most revered racing championships which features a great blend of different racing cars on the race course.

No. 1 On The Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, Jiyai Shin Opens Strong At The Bell Micro LPGA Classic

The ongoing 2010 Bell Micro LPGA Classic has witnessed participation from a number of champion golfers, including Jiyai Shin, who recently bagged the prestigious title of being No. 1 on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Mark Patterson To Re-join Michael Shank Racing At The Rolex 24 At Daytona

The South African racer, Mark Patterson, who had a near-podium finish in the 2009 season of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, will be seen making a come-back in the Daytona Prototype series for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of Glen as a part of the 2010 Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series. Carleton College Leads At The Rolex Classic Track Meet

This year’s Rolex Classic track meet has been won by the Carleton College after Jon Concannon’s triumph was chosen as the winning event from the meet. The championship was taking place between two cross-town rivals St. Olaf College and Carleton College. The Rolex championship was packed with several hurdles which were braved by both the teams however Carleton College maintained their dominance by earning a score of 1-2-3 over the Olaf College during the 110 meter hurdles, the 400 meter hurdles as well as in the 3000 meter steeplechase. Out of all the events, Jon Concannon’s triumph was chosen as the winning event in the 400 meters hurdles.

This year’s LPGA’s Tres Marias Championship has marked the beginning of a new chapter in the career of South Korea’s pride Jiyai Shin who with her impressive performance during the Japan LPGA tour took over the No. 1 rank in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. The tournament also marked the farewell of celebrated champion Lorena Ochoa who had stayed at the Rolex No. 1 rank for 158 weeks since April 2007. Ganassi Mazda Wins At The Rolex Grand Am Series

GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 Daytona Prototype championship’s Porsche 250 held on Saturday at Barber Motorsports Park saw the team of Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas register an impressive victory over their rivals. The event had taken place before a crowd of about 25,000 people. The No. 01 TELMEX Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates BMW Riley got its second victory in a row when Scott Pruett charged at the checkered flag about 6.870 seconds earlier than Ozz Negri.

The Rolex 24 At Daytona Recognizes Woman’s Fund Raising Efforts

Deb Wills, a woman from Urbana who raised a hefty amount of $49,000 for breast cancer relief has been rewarded by the organizers of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Deb Wills raised the amount as part of the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. She, along with other top ten fund raisers from across the nation, who were a part of the 2009 Avon Walk, were congratulated by Actor Patrick Dempsey and were also treated to a breakfast meal with the actor and his racing team- Dempsey Racing Champions’ Circle. The association between Avon and Dempsey Racing Champion’s Circle was announced a year ago during the 2009 Grand- Am Rolex Sports Car Series.
