Zac Efron Reveals His Readiness To Play Adult Roles With a Vintage Rolex At The Academy Awards.


At his first Oscar appearance accompanied by girlfriend and High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron wore a tuxedo by Dolce & Gabbana accessorized with a vintage Rolex watch. The vintage Rolex watch is the perfect symbol of Zac Efron’s attempt to transition beyond the cage of teen idol stardom. When his new film, 17 Again, premiered in London, Zac Efron wore the vintage Rolex watch again when was met by a mass of screaming teenage. Trying to be heard above the screams, Zac Efron said: "It’s insane. This is the biggest one yet. It’s crazy.” In the new comedy about a man who travels back in time to relive his youth, the 21-year old teen idol plays the younger version of Matthew Perry’s character - a frustrated and unfulfilled 37-year-old father of two. The role marks a break away from the high school scenes he has become synonymous with in the past. Zac Efron is looking forward to the reaction of his fan base: “I can’t wait to see what everybody thinks… this is a movie to bring along the fans… I want to bring them along to a new adventure." A sign of this desire to change came out when he was asked if he would be prepared to do a full frontal nude scene. Zac Efron did not rule it out when told reporters: "I don’t know. Honestly, I don't know." In other words, like Daniel Radcliffe (otherwise known as Harry Potter) who shocked his fans when he appeared naked in West End production of Equus, Zac Efron is ready to do whatever it takes to make the transition, and wearing a vintage Rolex is a symbol of that dedication.
